Business Profile
The Pope on Prince is a local vintage clothing store in Athens and was an emerging business when I wrote a profile on the store my freshman year. It was the first piece I published in our magazine and was something that required much guidance from my editors in interviewing and editing. I enjoyed the interviewing and writing process, and I fell in love with the piece and its stakeholders. I felt I told the owners' stories well and gave an accurate depiction of the business and its assets.

My freshman year, I wrote a profile on CCHS alumni Gedia Powell, whose life is heavily influenced by music. The story took several drafts and several rewrites to complete. With the guidance of my editors, I ended up with a profile that accurately told his story with the angle and message I hoped for.

Staff Member Profile
A 30-minute conversation with CCHS custodian Blanca Lynch is one of the highlights of my high school journalism career. I spoke to Lynch about her upbringing, her past careers and her family to craft a 300-word stylized profile on her. I greatly enjoyed telling her story, the life of someone who is often seen in our school, but seldom heard from.
